Ohio Opioid Technology Challenge: Join Ohio in Advancing Innovation to Combat the Opioid Crisis Ohio is launching the Ohio Opioid Technology Challenge to find new ideas to fight drug abuse and addiction. The Board further proposes to otherwise amend or rescind individual rules 4723-2-03; 4723-7-09; 4723-8-01 through 4723-8--8-07 through 4723-8-10; 4723-9-01 through 4723-9--9-10 through 4723-9-12; and 4723-23--23-08, that are found within OAC Chapters related to Licensing for Active Duty Military and Veterans; Examination and Licensure; Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification and Practice; Prescriptive Authority; and Dialysis Technicians, respectively.

This global challenge is seeking new approaches and technology solutions from the public, researchers, and scientists. Copies of the proposed rules referenced may be obtained at the Register of Ohio, Agency.jsp, and at the Board’s website, or by sending a request to the Board office.

Sandata, ODM’s contractor, will provide in-person training at various locations around the state.

In addition, webinar training and self-paced on-line training will be available for providers.

ODM will send providers details about training and registration soon. Details about the upcoming, mandatory training will be posted here as well.

New Online Training for Providers DUIP launched the first in a series of interactive, online trainings for healthcare providers.It ensures that individuals receive their medically necessary services.Services to be included in EVV are State Plan Home Health Aide, State Plan Home Health Nursing, Private Duty Nursing (PDN), Ohio Home Care Waiver Nursing, Ohio Home Care Waiver Personal Care Aide, Ohio Home Care Waiver Home Care Attendant, and State Plan RN Assessment.These trainings feature the recommendations in the Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain, providing sample scenarios, feedback, and resources.This series is intended to help healthcare providers communicate effectively with patients about opioid use, decide when to initiate or continue opioid therapy, offer appropriate nonopioid options for pain management, and assess and address risks and harms of opioid use.
